Day 1 Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be picked up and transported to hotel in Moshi, Tanzania. Day 2 Rest and relax at hotel and enjoy orientation with head guide. Day 3 Transport to Machame gate of Kilimanjaro National Park. Begin trek through the rain forest on a winding trail. (5-7 hours) Overnight at Machame hut campsite. (approx. 10,000') Day 4 After breakfast, leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on an ascending path, crossing a little valley and walking along a rocky ridge covered with heather. Overnight at Shira hut campsite. (approx. 12,600') Day 5 From Shira Plateau, continue trekking east towards the tower called "the Sharks Tooth". Shortly after the tower you will come to a junction leading to the Arrow Glacier. Continue to Barranco Hut campsite for overnight. (approx.13,000') Day 6 Leaving Barranco continue walking on a steep ridge passing Barranco wall to Karanga Valley campsite for overnight. (approx. 13,200') Day 7 Short trek to Barafu hut campsite, set up, relax eat and try to sleep until about midnight. (approx 15,200') Day 8 Just after midnight trek to Stella Point (18,300') then continue to the summit, Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the entire African continent. It is now about 8 am. Take pictures, have a group hug, maybe even cry. You have earned it. Now descend as quickly as possible to Mweka Hut campsite for well earned rest and sleep. (approx. 10,200') Day 9 The day is spent descending to Mweka gate for further transport back to the Hotel. Scrape off the mud, dirt, and shower off the smell and prepare for a great dinner and a good nights sleep. Day 10 Transport to Lake Manyara National Park, check into luxury tented lodge, have lunch and then do game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Day 11 Transport to Serengeti National Park. Game view enroute. Spend night at luxury Wildlife Lodge. Day 12 Game view all day in Serengeti. Spend night in luxury Wildlife Lodge. Day 13 Game view in Serengeti during morning. Then transport to Olduvai Gorge (site of the Leaky's discovery) on the way to the Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the night in luxury Wildlife Lodge on rim of crater. Day 14 Descend into the crater for all day game viewing. Spend the night in the luxury Wildlife Lodge. Day 15 Begin transport back to Arusha, Tanzania for lunch and then further transport back to Kilimanjaro International airport. Costs: (excluding airfare) The cost of the trip is $3,450 per person-Dbl OCC. Single supplement. $250. We will try to match you up. The cost includes all ground transportation. The cost includes all hotels, huts and lodges. The cost includes all meals on both the climb and the safari. The cost includes all guides, porters, cooks, hut fees and park fees on both the climb and safari. The cost does not include tips for the guides and porters which is expected and customary. The cost does not include airfare or departure taxes. Reservations/Cancellations: To reserve a spot on this trip you must make a $300 deposit. Credit cards are not accepted.
